To learn more about Rhinebeck history, visit the lower level of the Starr Library, 68 West Market Street, Rhinebeck, NY12572. Historic Rhinebeck photos, post cards of Rhinebeck, documents and maps featuring old Rhinebeck history can be viewed at the Rhinebeck Historical Society. A schedule of monthly educational programs on the history of Rhinebeck, free and open to the public, and a quarterly newsletter of information related to Rhinebeck New York history are accessible at our website. Information on cemeteries, ancestry, family histories and genealogy, historic homes and architecture is also available at our central location in the village of Rhinebeck in northern Dutchess County, NY in the heart of the Hudson Valley.


Founded in 1967, RHS maintains and manages an extensive archives collected over many years and dating back to the 1700s. The archives are protected in a climate controlled facility at the Starr Library in Rhinebeck and are available to anyone on request or during scheduled hours of operation (see note below). A catalog of the archived materials is available at rhinebeckhistory.org.
